Blashford Lakes
I have a few editions of this book but I found the inscription in this copy beautiful and intimate.
A planned trip to Blashford Lakes was on the books. Plus I had to test out a recently acquired Kowa TSN-1 spotting scope. I kept things 80's again with the Carl Zeiss Jenoptems 8x30W and a SLIK D3 Tripod.
Complete with the 30x wide angle and a 25x eyepieces. Optics that are still as good today.
SLIK D3 an excellent tripod for its day.
The Jena's
The reserve was quite quiet avian wise, but there were still some good birds to see.
The remains of a Giant Puffball on the path to the Tern Hide.
Fungi species growing from a log.

When someone takes the time to do something like this, it becomes special.
Birds seen: nothing new to add to the year list, but still some nice birds. Little Ringed Plover a juvenile with to adults in front of the hide. Pied and Grey Wagtails feeding on Insects. Common Tern, Lapwing, Sand Martin. The Black Swan was closer to the Tern Hide.
